Prior to this Linn had managed his family's varied business interests in the UK before these were disposed of to a UK PLC
Linn has owned and operated several companies in Spain, clients being made up of foreign government organisations, banks and major international conglomerates. (These include Grindlays Bank (that was), South African Tourist Board [SATOUR], Hoteles Coach SA, and Pavillion Christoffle.) Specific property investments in which Linn has participated include the McInerney Group’s first Four Seasons timeshare resort in Spain, hotel investments at various resorts (eg. Poniente - Mallorca, Somosaguas – Madrid [for Banco Urquijo], San Andrés - Cádiz, Los Berros - Seville [for Mitsubishi Corporation], Santa María - Marbella, Morocopo - Caracas, La Manga Golf [in co-operation with American Consulting]).
Linn speaks Spanish fluently and is active in non-profit making organisations at a local and national level.
Apart from his commercial activities, Linn has been involved sporadically in the local media, having at one time or another been proprietor and/or chief executive of The Marbella Times, Marbella Today, Estepona Today, Costa & Casa, and a few others. Based on the experience gained during the 1960s when Linn had his own Spanish wine importing business in the UK, he currently writes regular wine columns and lifestyle articles for the publications ‘Essential Marbella’, ‘Baleares’ and ‘Andalucia Magazine’.
Hobbies? Well, over the last 40 years plus these have included (but do not necessarily still include) Spain, bullfighting, Spain, flamenco, Spain, wine, Spain, food, Spain, dogs, Spain, reading (about Spain), antiques, Spain, music, Spain,…and well, er, Spain.
