Barrie Suart

Barrie Suart spent his early adulthood in the Middle East. He travelled widely in Turkey, syria and the Lebanon in the 60’s and was actively involved in archaeological work in Cyprus. In 1969 he returned to the UK for two years as Director of Studies at the United World College (Atlantic College) and then moved to Hong Kong as Principal of a military college. In 1985 he was appointed Director of the English International College in Marbella, a position from which he retired in 1990.

While living in Cyprus he had his book on the flora of the island published and since retiring in Spain has written numerous pieces, largely on travel, for a variety of newspapers, magazines and travel guides. He is currently president of the Salon varieties theatre in Fuengirola. His paintings have been exhibited in Spain and London.
