COMMUNICATOR Award 2011

The Costa Press Club (Asociación Club de Prensa de la Costa del Sol) is once again presenting the COMMUNICATOR Award 2011, in recognition of an original or outstanding work of journalism, or excellence in journalistic writing, reporting or photography.

The COMMUNICATOR Award is based on the same core principles and concept of the renowned Pulitzer Prize.    
The list of categories this year has been expanded to cover all types of journalism, published on the Costa del Sol, in any format: online, magazine/newspaper or book.

The categories are:
1) investigative reporting
2) exposés and news stories of exceptional relevance
3) articles dealing with crimes or serious cases of abuse
4) books featuring quality writing, fiction or non-fiction
5) science and medical news/breakthroughs/discoveries
6) special events/occasions covered by journalists/feature writers
7) outstanding photography enhancing the vital details and objectives of a news story or feature
8) important information dealing with health, economy, lifestyle, family issues, caring and rearing children or political situations (local and national) affecting people on the Costa del Sol

Basic criteria:

Entries must have been published during 2011 (closing date 31 December 2011)

Entries must be written in English.

Entries are limited to a maximum of three per person.

Non-members are welcome to enter the awards.

 

Entries must be sent here, by 31 January 2012.

A judging panel will study the entries during February 2012, and make their decision at the end of the month.

The award presentation, with a Costa Press Club inscribed citation received by all winners, will be held on  Thursday 8th of March 2012 - venue to be confirmed.
