What
is the Costa Press Club?
The objectives of this international press club are to:
* provide a regular (monthly)
social forum/meeting place for resident and
visiting foreign and Spanish journalists.
* share industry information and contacts.
* act as a voice/lobby for foreign journalists
resident in Spain.
Who
is eligible?
Any bonafide member of the press, media or communications industry on
the Costa del Sol.
How
can people apply to join?
Either contact the president Jesper
Sander Pedersen , secretary Suzan
Davenport or treasurer/membership secretary Peter
Leonard, or attend the next meeting of the club (see website for
details).
To apply for membership a person must be nominated and seconded by two
current members, and supply a résumé of his/her press, media
and/or communications career and background.
The application is then considered by the committee, which – according
to the statutes - must approve it unanimously.
NOTE: As one of the basic tenets of the club
is, “to provide a regular (monthly) social forum/meeting place for
resident and visiting foreign and Spanish journalists”, the committee
may, at its discretion, decline a member’s renewal if that member
has failed to attend a reasonable number of meetings/dinners during the
previous 12 months.
How
much does it cost?
Thirty euros as a one-off joining fee, plus 30 euros a year (i.e. a total
of 60 euros). What
are the advantages of membership?
Apart from being closely associated with the aforementioned objectives,
members' professional details are listed on the club's website. |
